夏勇，1966年9月出生，湖北人，博士研究生导师，博士后合作导师，牛博平台附属第一医院心血管内科副主任、心血管病研究中心主任。

长期从事心血管调节、发病机制和转化医学研究，并在相关领域做出大量原创性贡献，多次获得美国国立卫生研究所（NIH）、美国心脏学会（AHA）、美国糖尿病学会（ADA）和科技部国家重大基础研究计划（973）项目资助。主持国家自然科学基金面上项目2项，科研总经费达750余万美元，相关研究成果发表在Nature, Science, PNAS, Circulation Research等杂志，被引用达12,400多次。入选国家级领军人才，国家海外高层次人才（2008年），重庆市“巴渝学者”特聘教授，重庆医学领航人才。曾任美国约翰霍普金斯大学医学院讲师、助理教授 (tenure-track)，俄亥俄州立大学医学院副教授、教授 (tenured)。美国生物化学和分子生物学学会会员，美国生理学会会员，美国心脏学会会员，美国心脏学会和糖尿病学会基金评审委员，美国国立卫生研究院特邀评委，国家自然科学基金委员会重点项目评委、二审评委，20余本专业杂志的审稿人。
